I wobbled slighly, grabbing onto the railing around the walkway as a particularly large swell hit the side of the ship. Good thing I took my heels off, I thought as I continued towards the casino. I wasn't much for gambling, but there was a perfect little area across and off to the side that had the perfect place to watch the ocean water slap against the ship. I'd decided to go down there and relax a bit after supper. I was so glad to have been able to change out of my dress and into jeans and a long sleeve shirt.

It was the last night we were going to be on the ship. We were going to be docked tomorrow but we were going to be there later than originally expected. We were headed into some bad weather and it was going to delay us a bit. I walked around the smal tables acoss from the casino and sat down in a vacated window seat.

It was getting almost too dark to see anything at all. The sky was dark gray and stormy and the water was a deep, ominous shade of blue. When the huge waves crashed againt the ship though, it turned teal and turquoise before dissolving into bubbles along the surface. It was slightly terrifying, thinking about such large waves washing over the side, but it was also rather thrilling and beautiful.

I stayed by the window for a good long while, watching the waves get slowly bigger until I could see almost nothing at all. I could only just make out the front of the ship and see the spray of the waves from the other side reach up to at least the tenth deck. The rocking of the ship had definitely passed soothing and was reaching nerve-wracking. I had just jerked myself awake for the second time when thunder boomed. I jumped, looking outside to see lightning streak across the sky. I stood up, nearly tipping over, and rubbed my eyes.

"Definitely bed time," I mumbled as I made my way to the elevators to get to my room. I was almost to my destination when another wave hit us and I did fall. I lost my balance and landed on my rear. I heard someone come over the speaker, but I couldn't make out a single word they were saying. I stood back up on shaking legs when thunder crashed again, sounding much closer this time. I was beginning to get worried. People were panicking and starting to try to get information in mobs and I knew that was the stupidist thing they could've done.

I decided there was absolutely no way I was going to be able to sleep with all this going on so I started back towards the casino. A few more massive, roller coaster like lurches and some more thunder and it was calm. I seated myself in the window again and tried to make out something against the inky blackness. It was now completely dark, much, much too dark. I leaned against the cool glass, telling myself to just get up and go to bed, but I couldn't make myself move.

I was beyond drowsy and didn't notice the others that were passing out across from me in the casino or the waiters and waitresses slumping to the floor. Some of the glasses they carried shattered while others rolled around, spilling their contents everywhere. No one cared. I yawned and curled into myself, falling asleep easily against the glass.
Here's the second chapter as promised, sorry it took so long!! I do hope you all like it! :D
