"Korra!!" Mako screamed. She heard him fade into silence as she fell into the water below. Everything went quiet as she submerged in the drink. She used her good arm and a bit of her bending to get her to the surface. She came up gulped for air.
"Mmm, ow," she wheezed as she bobbed over to the preparation platform. She pulled herself up with her right arm painfully and flopped on the stone floor. She clenched her teeth as pain shot through her body. "Dang, those benders are good," she huffed under her breath. She gasped for air thanks to the blow of earth to her stomach.
She jumped as the buzzer go off. I hope they didn't do anything rash, she thought distractedly. She heard a splash from behind her and turned her head to see Mako swimming towards the platform.
"Korra!" he called. He praying she was okay. Three elements all at once is a hard thing to take, even for the avatar. "Korra! Are you alright?" he asked her as he jumped out of the pool onto the platform.
"Yea," she said as she tried to pull herself off her belly, failed, and dropped back to the ground. Mako rushed over and knelt next to her.
"Yea right," he said. "Can you get onto your back?" he asked worriedly. She nodded and used her right arm to push herself off her stomach and flip to her back. She tensed for the impact of the stone with her body, but was surprised when the contact was gentle and not abrupt, like she'd expected. Mako rested her against the floor gently, but just barely jostled her arm in the process. This sent another shot of pain through her. She bit her tongue to hold back a loud yelp.
"What are you doing?" she gritted her teeth. The firebender repositioned himself and gingerly wrapped an arm under her knees and the other around her torso. She hissed as he began to lift her. Her breathing came in short, painful pants. "So," she started as he carried her over to the small couch, "you jumped in after me?" Mako's cheeks turned the slightest shade of pink at the mention of his diving stunt off the platform.
"And what if I did?" He asked as he laid her on the beat up old sofa. She grinned and shook her head.
"Nothin'." She smiled as she fingered a piece of fluff coming from a slit in the fabric of the couch. "At least tell me we won the match," she asked suddenly, remembering she didn't know. He rolled his eyes and nodded, opening his mouth to speak when suddenly the door burst open and Mako's younger brother rushed in.
"Korra! Are you okay?!" he shouted at the two. The loud banging of the door had startled Mako, making him brush the waterbender's arm.
"Ah!!" the avatar cried. Bolin hurried over and sat down next to his brother.
"Where'd they hit you?" Mako asked trying to quench his anger at the other team until Korra was taken care of.
"My leg, my stomach, and my arm," she breathed heavily, "possibly my back." She closed her eyes, knowing the brothers would take care of her. She trusted them.
She felt her shoes being slid off and someone removing the padding from her arm and torso. She would hiss in pain every time they hit an extremely sensitive spot.
"Bolin, get my knife." Mako whispered to his brother, trying to keep Korra from hearing, but failing.
"Knife!" she cried, sitting up and instantly regretting it. She groaned in pain and fell back against the arm of the couch.
"Yes," Mako replied, taking his short blade from his brother, "knife. I need to cut the fabric away from your leg." The avatar sighed and closed her eyes again.
"Why don't you just go and kill me now?" she mumbled as Mako cut away at the fabric.
"Oh Korra," she heard him breath. She opened her eyes and saw him staring at her leg in horror.
"What?" She rasped. "How bad is it?" He came out of his stupor and looked at her with his amber eyes.
"It could be worse," he managed. The waterbender moaned. "It'll definitely need to be patched up." He told her. "How's her arm, Bo?" he asked the earthbender.
"Most like bruised pretty bad," Bolin answered as he studied the length of her right arm. "It might be fractured, possibly broken, but I highly doubt it." He paused a moment. "How hard did he hit you, and what with?" Korra grimaced and repositioned herself.
"Water," she puffed. "And hard enough." She grunted as the muscled and organs in her abdomen screamed in protest at the movement.
"Bo, go find a first aid kit. I wanna fix her leg up now." Mako instructed Bolin. His brother nodded and hurried to the door.
"And if you see any medics, tell em' I'm fine!" Korra yelled as he shut the door.
"Why don't you want actual professionals helping you?" Mako asked as he continued to examine the scorched wound on the outside if her thigh.
"Because, I don't trust them." Korra stated firmly. She paused a moment, then opened her mouth again to speak. "I trust you," she told him gently. He looked up at her, a small smile gracing his lips. She didn't know why, but right then she wanted to kiss him so bad. Before she could decide what to do, Mako leaned forward quickly and pressed his warm lips to hers. Her eyes widened a bit at the sudden contact, then gradually closed.
"Wow." Korra breathed when he pulled away. It was a short, simple, fiery kiss, but implied so much.
"I trust you too." Mako told her. Bolin ran back into the room suddenly, panting and carrying a medical kit.
"Here bro," he said as he handed it to the firebender. Mako opened it and pulled out some antiseptic spray and gauze.
"Hold still," he told Korra and, without warning, sprayed the stuff on the wound.
"Ahh!!!" she cried out in pain. Both bending brothers winced at the sound.
"I'm sorry," Mako said. Korra bit her lip, trying to hold back tears.
"It's okay." She breathed heavily. Mako unraveled the gauze and wrapped it around her leg.
"Is there a thick bandage in there so I can wrap this up totally?" Bolin searched the small kit and pulled out a bandage wrap. He tossed it to the firebender. "Thanks." He said. "Korra how's your stomach?" he asked worriedly.
"In pain," she sighed heavily. Mako finished wrapping her leg up and moved to sit next to her torso. He looked up at his brother, who was still trying to examine her arm.
"Bo," he looked up, "go find someone to look at her arm. I've got this." He told his baby brother. Korra looked at him incredulously and turned to the earthbender.
"Bolin," she growled, "don't you dare!" she stared at him until Mako begin lifting her jersey off and she yelled again.
"Go on bro," Mako told him," just don't mention her stomach or leg." His brother nodded and sprinted out.
"Bo! Bolin!!!" Korra yelled desperately after him. Mako looked at the waterbender and chuckled.
"Lift your arms." He told her. She stared at him and opened her mouth to yell at him.
"I can't!! If you haven't noticed, its kinda useless at the moment!!" she yelled at him furiously. Mako just shook his head.
"I had to get a medic. There's nothing me or Bolin can do if it's messed up internally," he replied calmly. Korra didn't answer, she just sat there fuming. He rolled up her shirt so it was resting against her rib cage. "I promise I won't let them hurt you." He told her as he took in the blotched and bruised skin of her abdomen. She stuck her tongue out at him and leaned back. He tried not to let his imagination run away with him as he took in the lower part of her torso.
"Is there anything you can do for it?" she asked grudgingly. Make looked on helpless, and then an idea stuck him.
"I think so," he murmured to himself. He rubbed his hands together; heating them up as if he were preparing to throw a fire punch.
"Well, whatever you're doing, just be careful." She grunted. "Every time I move my insides begin hollering at me to stop moving." Mako nodded.
"Don't you trust me?" he grinned as a small grin crept onto her face. He took his hands and barely brushed the skin of her stomach, Korra's breath hitched and she hissed in pain. "I'm so sorry, Korra," he said quickly as he snatched his hands away.
"Mmm," she grunted as she shook her head. "I'm fine, keep going." She clenched her together and waited for his hands to make contact with her stomach again.
"Okay," he muttered softly. Tentatively, he placed his hands over her well-toned stomach. He laid them against her abdomen and tried to ignore the grunts of pain coming from the waterbender.
The heat generated from his hands slowly seeped into the muscle, relieving some of the pain. Korra sighed as the tightness left her midsection.
"How in the world are you doing that?" she asked as he slid his hands over her abdomen.
"Heat," he replied. He removed his hands and rolled her shirt back down.
"Well, it's amazing!" she said as she looked at him. He smiled and unconsciously reached out and cupped her cheek.
"Can you move okay?" he asked. A small blush rose in her cheeks.
"I, uh, I think so." She sat up slowly. The pain had dulled significantly. "It's not as bad." She smiled and kissed his cheek. "Thank you." Mako's face turned bright red and he looked at the floor.
"You're w-welcome," he stammered. Korra laughed and swung her legs over the edge of the couch.
"Help me up," she said as she wrapped her uninjured arm around the firebender's neck.
"Are you sure? What about your leg?" he asked, not wanting her to strain herself. The avatar raised her eyebrows.
"I'm fine and so's my leg." She assured him, "besides, we need to go find Bolin. He probably got lost trying to find the doctors." Mako laughed as he wrapped an arm around her waist.
"That's a definite possibility," he said. "So, do you still trust me?" he asked her as they walked out of the prep room. She smiled and kissed him on the mouth softly.
"What do you think?" she whispered in his ear.
This is so crappy. I hate myself for even putting it up but I desperately needed some Makorra fluffiness so this is the outcome. I know! It sucks. I really hate the ending. it is so lame!!

Well anyway, enjoy!
